Lisbon
In the city of Lisbon are found several grand squares, a castle, a spectacular monastery, a museum of ornate carriages, and the 16th century tower that is the emblem of the city. A visitor to the city sees many fine examples of manueline architecture, a late gothic style used by the Portuguese.

Countryside around Lisbon
In the countryside around Lisbon are found the town of Sintra with its fairytale castles, the medieval town of Óbidos, the Monastery of Batalha, and the religious center of Fatima. We also saw sardines being dried in the sun on the beach in the town of Alcobaça e Nazaré.
