In Iceland's north, near the city of Akureyri, are found the Gošafoss waterfall, geothermal activity, and our first view of the
tectonic rift.
The Golden Circle drive from Reykjavik took us to Geysir, the Gullfoss waterfall, and another location along the tectonic rift.
From Isafjordur, in the western fjords, it is a short boat trip to the island of Vigur on which are found thousands of birds, including many Puffins.
Located in eastern Iceland, Vatnajokull is the largest glacier in Europe. After snowmobiling on the glacier, we sailed among the icebergs in a glacial lagoon.
Here are some photos taken in the city of Reykjavik and of central Iceland from the air.
