The highlight of our visit to Rio de Janeiro was a helicopter ride from Sugarloaf, around the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado, and over Copacabana Beach.

There are great views overlooking Rio de Janeiro from Corcovado and Sugarloaf. You ascend Corcovado by tram to the base of the Christ the Redeemer statue. Sugarloaf is climbed in two stages, both by arial tramway.

Rio de Janeiro has a downtown area, but it is the beaches that seem to attract the locals. Also in
the city can be found the Tijuca Rain Forest.
